Features and Benefits

Deploying broadband connections to residences and businesses requires fiber optic connectivity that can operate in the OSP environment for 20+ years. Molex OSP Fiber’s Hardened SC-APC Connectivity and Bend-Limiting Flat Drop Cable ensures that the connection to the internet service provider will remain stable.

The massive scale of FTTx deployments requires installation of fiber elements/links by technicians with no specialty fiber skills who can do the work in the minimum time possible. Factory-Terminated MSTs and cables provide guaranteed performance (factory tested), require no special training to install (plug and play) and afford the fastest method of joining optical elements.

Physical plant (network) owners will require multiple sources of supply to be interoperable. Molex OSP Fiber’s MST and Drop Cables will use industry-standard connector form factors.

Environmentally Hardened Optical Connectivity

Molex’s Outside Plant Fiber’s Hardened SC-APC Connectivity and Bend-Limiting Flat Drop Cable ensures stable connection to the home or business.

Industry-Standard Connectivity

Molex OSP Fiber’s Multi Service Terminal (MST) and Bend-Limiting Flat Drop Cable use industry-standard OptiTap-compatible connectors. The drop cables may also be ordered with SC-APC connectivity or not-connectorized for splicing. Molex home termination boxes use standard SC-APC connectivity.

Rapid and Reliable Installation

Molex OSP Fiber’s Factory Terminated MST and Bend-Limiting Flat Drop Cables provide guaranteed performance and do not require any special training to install. These afford the fastest method of joining optical elements.

Fiber Entrance Terminal
Facilitates easy, fast and unobtrusive termination at the building exterior; has UV resistant housing, is designed for wall-mount applications to provide protection for fiber optic connections and splices in indoor and outdoor environments.

Multi Service Terminal (MST)
Facilitates fastest deployment with guaranteed performance and reduced cost; also provides quick access for maintenance and troubleshooting.

Drop Cables
Provides a quick and easy “plug and play” connection from the pedestal or hand holes to the network terminal and can be installed in aerial, direct-buried or duct installations, thereby reducing the cost and time of drop cable deployment, and simplifying installation and maintenance by reducing splicing in the distribution portion of the network.

Fiber Wall Outlet
Integrates fiber splicing, flexible connections and storage in one unit, allowing the cables to be crossed and connected in a variety of ways; also protects the internal fiber bend radius and protection from dust and moisture.

Quasar OptiX Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Optic Cable Overview

Watch the video to learn how Molex Quasar OptiX OSP Fiber Optic cables are designed to be easier for the technician to handle and manage. For use in buried or aerial applications in harsh outside environments, these cables are easy to identify, speed up the splicing and termination process, and reduce the risk of injury. With five layers of protection to stop water intrusion and temperature ratings up to -40°C, the bend-resistant cables can facilitate most types of applications or installation methods.
