Ease of Assembly

Nano-Fit Connectors offer BMI capabilities, multiple mechanical keying and color-coded options, and allow same-circuit, multiple connector use with virtually no chance of cross mating. Color-coding provides visual indication of the proper mating connector enabling faster assembly. An ergonomic latch is also offered, requiring less force to depress when unmating. Fully isolated contacts reduce the risk of misalignment and simplify the mating process.

Nano-Fit Connectors offer positive-lock housing with an anti-snag design for secure connections. Also, terminal position assurance (TPA), an audible click and wire snags that protect the latch from damage help ensure mated connector assemblies will not accidentally disengage.

What do color coding and mechanical keying mean?
Nano-Fit Connectors are visually color coded and mechanically keyed to create a design on the molded housing to prevent mis-mating. This means that you cannot mix colors. Natural mates to natural, and black mates to black. 

What are gold-flash terminals?
Gold-flash terminals have a very thin layer of gold, 0.25 micrometers. If a customer is using tin plating and has quality concerns relating to fretting corrosion or imperfections causing connectivity issues, gold terminals can improve overall environmental performance. For some customers, gold-flash plating may offer a cost-effective alternative to fully gold-plated terminals. 

Does Nano-Fit Connectors have reflow capability?
Yes.

Are Nano-Fit Connector parts low halogen?
Yes.

Can you mate Nano-Fit BMI headers to standard Nano-Fit receptacles?
No, standard Nano-Fit receptacles will not mate with Nano-Fit BMI headers. There are specific series for Nano-Fit BMI headers, receptacles and plugs that only mate together. Standard Nano-Fit parts will not mate together.

Does the Nano-Fit product family have a USCAR certification?
Yes, all Fit product families are USCAR2 rated for shock and vibration only.
