Features and Benefits

Design engineers require greater power requirements with less PCB space. Compact Mega-Fit Connectors offer higher current in a small package, freeing up additional real estate on PCBs and allowing customers to have more power per linear and square millimeter.

These connectors also meet diverse design requirements by providing isolated contacts, mechanically keyed selections and potting capable headers. Blind mating interface and TPA options are also available for versatile configurations, affording engineers design flexibility to create efficient and robust electronic solutions.

To avoid improper connector engagement and operator fatigue in high-force mating processes, Mega-Fit products offer a new latch design and tangless terminals for superior retention when mating to the header. Overall, Mega-Fit Connectors ensure high performance and secure mating for electrical reliability.

Cost Efficient

Mega-Fit Connectors promote cost efficiency by featuring potting-capable headers that eliminate the need for additional sealants, reducing raw material costs. Additionally, these connectors tout robust retention features to help reduce costly device failures and offer a broad range of configurations that allow designers to avoid custom products, further enhancing overall savings and reliability.

Secure Retention

For secure, dependable connections, Mega-Fit Connectors feature positive locks with an audible click for connector mating. More options include TPA and CPA for enhanced retention and reliability in harsh environments. These connectors are also certified for USCAR-2 shock and vibration.

Mega-Fit Single Row Connector with TPA

Allows same-circuit, multiple-connector use with a limited chance of cross mating; provides visual indication of the properly mated connector for faster assembly
There are multiple mechanical keying and color-coded options with polarization for operational safety and efficient assembly.

Offers a compact mid-power solution
A small pitch size allows these connectors to take up less space on the PCB and provide the power that designers require in a limited space.

Ensures mated connector assemblies will not accidentally disengage
The TPA feature reduces assembly errors and ensures terminals are fully seated and will not back out. These connectors also offer a CPA option for additional locking security.

Meets USCAR-2 specifications for shock and vibration
These connectors are suitable for use in most automotive applications, except for safety or on-engine applications.

Helps prevent dust and moisture at lower costs than sealed products
Potting capable headers ensures environmental protection and long-term reliability.

Creates space efficiency, optimal current paths, and enhanced robustness and reliability
Unique terminal designs use two similar wire gauges in one terminal and include double-crimp option.

Reduces the risk of handling and transit damage
A tangless  terminal design is available with TPA receptacles only.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do color coding and mechanical keying mean?
Mega-Fit Connectors are visually color-coded and mechanically keyed to create a design on the molded housing that helps prevent mis-mating. This means that you cannot mix colors. Natural mates to natural and black mates to black.

What is the benefit of using the double-crimp feature?
Using two similar wire gauges in one terminal creates space efficiency, optimal current paths and enhanced robustness and reliability.

Does Molex have PCB potting capability?
No, Molex can provide the specifications for potting the Fit Families, but the customer will need to pot the PCB or use a third-party. Molex provides the potting-capable series, potting resin recommendations and maximum potting height for uninterrupted connectivity.
