Features and Benefits

Manufacturers of industrial devices, robots and complex machines are facing new technologies when integrating their devices into smart factory networks. To optimize production efficiency and enable network flexibility for expansion, solutions must be compatible with industrial protocols across diverse environments and applications. Precise synchronization of machinery and processes demands timely and accurate data exchange using high-performance components.

The PC-based control infrastructure of the smart factory impacts the design of these devices and complex machines. Compliance with industrial communication protocols, high-performance hardware solutions for real-time communication, and simplified integration improve efficiency and scalability, helping users adapt to changing network requirements in industrial operations.

Network Interface Cards (NICs) tailor the hardware to the specific protocol, enhancing performance and enabling out-of-the-box functionality. This accelerates system integration by eliminating time-consuming software installation and configuration. NICs minimize network downtime, prevent bottlenecks, and offer high flexibility and scalability to meet volatile demand. NICs also streamline configuration, diagnostics and maintenance tasks with a product configuration tool (PCT) and address conflict detection (ACD) providing user-friendly troubleshooting and configuration capabilities.

Compliance, Performance, Integration

EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and DeviceNet Network Interface Cards are engineered for PC-based control systems in industrial automation, focusing on compliance, performance and integration. These NICs support 100% compliance with these communication protocols, enabling seamless compatibility across various industrial automation systems. They offer real-time, high-performance capabilities crucial for industrial processes and are based on a unified software architecture with common APIs, facilitating easy integration and protocol transitions.

EtherNet/IP NICs

Reduces network downtime
With built-in dual-port Ethernet switches and a DLR supervisor mode, the robust design enables rapid fault detection and recovery, safeguarding critical operations and permitting flexible deployment in star, line or ring topologies.

Supports large-scale industrial networks
Supporting up to 60 connections per channel (120 in single-channel mode) and handling up to 12,000 packets per second, the NIC reduces network congestion and supports easy expansion.

PROFINET NICs

Delivers reliable and uninterrupted data transfer
Two independent PROFINET ports support the media redundancy protocol (MRP) for fault-tolerant networking and enable 100Mbps full-duplex communication with auto-negotiation and auto-crossing.

Offers seamless multi-controller communication for complex networks
The NIC simultaneously operates as both a PROFINET IO controller and an IO device, enabling it to control other devices while being managed by a higher-level system.

DeviceNet NICs

Enables real-time control
The Network Interface Cards scan DeviceNet signals in 3 to 5 milliseconds, supporting real-time control in data acquisition applications.

Provides simultaneous execution of scanner and adapter operations
The combined Group 2 client (scanner) and server (adapter) operations in one NIC allow implementation of control schemes where multiple functions may be required.
