Sliver Edge Card Connectors

Customers are always trying to obtain the best price on connector solutions. One strategy is to leverage one connector solution across as many applications as possible, enabling high-volume purchasing. Sliver Edge Card Connectors were designed to be a connector solution that can be used across multiple platforms. Sliver can be adapted to be used for memory/storage, accessory cards and orthogonal direct configurations.

Customers are likely to refer to a connector by the industry standard (SFF-TA-1002) rather than “Sliver.” The Sliver Edge Card Connector is recognized by the SFF, JEDEC Committee, Gen-Z Consortium and OCP.

The data center industry is moving toward a smaller pitch to conserve board space. The Sliver Edge Card Connector has a 0.60mm pitch, which offers a 30% space savings compared to a conventional 0.80mm-pitch solution.

As chip speeds increase, customers are interested in the solution that provides the cleanest signal integrity performance. The Sliver Edge Card Connector is a high-speed solution that offers SI performance to 32 Gbps, with a roadmap to 56 Gbps.
