LAS VEGAS – June 26, 2017 – Today at Cisco Live, Cisco’s annual IT and communications conference, Molex, a Cisco Solutions Technology Integrator and member of the Cisco Digital Building Solution partner community, announced it will exhibit at Cisco Live 2017 in Las Vegas, June 25 – 29, 2017. The Cisco World of Solutions Digital Building section at Cisco Live will feature members of the Digital Building community highlighting intelligent network connected building solutions. The Molex Transcend Network Connected Lighting System for transformational building concepts will be on display at Cisco Live Booth D20.
“PoE Lighting solutions are advancing rapidly in this exciting era of digital transformation. IP-based infrastructure makes lighting a service and an IoT building asset that can synergistically integrate sensors, actuators and other building functions. More integration means cost optimization and drastic energy savings, increased occupant comfort, and productivity performance, but it also provides more meaningful data collection by a sensor system that can be granular or distributed as part of the lighting network infrastructure,” said Giovanni Frezza, global product manager – Network Connected Lighting Solutions, Molex.
Digital buildings need open standards and field proven technology. The Molex Transcend Connected Lighting solution is leveraged in large scale installations and is interoperable with other CoAP- based IoT systems.
Molex developed the Power over Ethernet (PoE) Transcend Network Connected Lighting System in collaboration with Cisco and luminaire manufacturers to accelerate deployment of smart LED lighting control using highly secure network architectures in commercial buildings, educational, healthcare, and manufacturing and warehouse facilities. The intelligent, low-voltage system incorporates Transcend gateways, sensors, cables and software plus the Cisco Digital Building Network PoE Switch to support IEEE802.3x standards and open, scalable cost-effective infrastructures.
The Transcend Network Connected Lighting System powers and controls lights, sensors, shades, motors and actuators for increased operational efficiency and reduced maintenance. Digital zoning is key to simple and versatile space optimization. The Transcend lighting automation control features biodynamic lighting scenes such as circadian cycles and mode and task oriented control providing a more personalized experience and natural environment designed to foster employee productivity and comfort. Air quality, temperature, humidity, occupancy and power monitoring sensors collect data for real time reporting and building analytics.
